New Fortis Clinics Introduced in 2009.

ENDOSCOPY SERVICE FOR FORTIS PATIENTS - The first contract under the "any willing provider" community endoscopy service was signed the One.Day Medical centre in December 2008.
The service was made available to Fortis patients from 5th January 2009. All patients are able to have their test within a week and be seen by consultants from Southend University Hospital working in the community. On some occasions for upper GI patients may be able to be seen within 48 hours.
Patients are seen very quickly and results sent back to their GP within 2 working days. This service is available 6 days a week.
 
UROLOGY SERVICE FOR FORTIS PATIENTS - This service commenced at the end of March 2009 and is run at the One.Day Medical Centre each Monday afternoon and evening by Mr Richard Lodge BSc, MBChB, FRCS(Eng), FRCS(Urol), ChM. Mr Lodge sees outpatients both new and follow-up as well as carrying out some procedures particularly local anaesthetic cystoscopies and prostate biopsies. Mr Lodge will be running a one-stop haematuria clinic which will include a CT urogram if required as well as cystoscopy and outpatient consultation. Findings will be given to the patient on the same day with onward referral agreed if required. The aim is for all patients to be seen within two weeks.
